My wife and I live in the Capital District (Albany, NY) and have 4 great kids; no trouble, great grades, part-time jobs, and sports. Being the spoiled suburban kids that they are, they all have cell phones. What we learned is that they won't pick up their phones when we call, but if you text, they answer right back (I will never understand this since you can talk faster than you can type). Anyway, my wife and I have been forced to learn how to text. Worse yet, their grandfather has had to learn in order to "talk" to them. He is a mere 68 years young. Anyway, here is where the fountain of youth comes in, I use an Internet lead generation system that allows my to instant message my clients if they are on my system. In order to do this, I have had to set up an account with AIM and need to leave it on while I am working. So, now I have the privilege of not only texting my kids, but can now IM them. This make me feel like a kid again!!!!!! Ah, the fountain of youth. Next thing you know, I'll be getting a tattoo or wait, maybe a piercing?????? What do you think?????

Hi Lewis This is really a cute post. It is so nice to hear about getting your dad in on the loop. My dad & mom were always involved with my daughter, I kept them in on a loop.You ask what we thought about a tattoo or a piercing...just wonder what the kids would say. They no doubt think their dad is hep no matter what.

Be sure your "artist" doesn't leave off that little copyright symbol though. You know they can get testy about those things at the Association.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah... NO! No piercing or tatooing please, it will make you look like you are trying too hard! I just figured out the texting thing, and found out as you did that I get an INSTANT response from my kids scattered far and wide! Now, I just need to figure out how to do text punctuation!

Janna - After you learn punctuation, you have to learn T9. If you don't know what that is, just ask your kids!!!
Texting is great! Instant Messaging is better!!!!!!
Nix on the tat or the piercing...enjoy knowing that your kids "want" to text you...in my book that's the "coolest" of them all!
